Unfortunately for the harp seal (Pagophilus groenlandicus), which takes its name from a dark, harp-shaped marking on its back, its thick fur is quite beautiful with subtly toned creams and greys and it is heavily hunted, particularly in Canada. It grows to about 1.8m long and can dive to over 270m, staying underwater for up to half an hour.
